HYGGEE | Minimal Korean Skincare Routine

Hey Friendlies!

Today I’m sharing my latest beauty haul and review of the innovating Korean brand HYGGEE, which has helped me create a Minimal Korean Skincare Routine. (Skincare note: I have oily/dehydrated/post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation [pih], anti-aging concerns)

HYGGEE is a relatively new Korean skincare brand, that has quickly found a permanent spot on my skincare shelf. With cutting-edge minimal skincare technology (MST), HYGGEE has created products using an all-in-one-step formula that simplifies and maximizes your Korean skincare routine.

WATCH (& KEEP ON READING) xo

With HYGGEE your AM skincare doesn’t have to be 7-10 steps, instead, you can pare down your routine to 3-4 steps, which is ideal for beginners entering the world of K-beauty (and groundbreaking for me as I love the process of adding layers!) As someone who treats their skincare routine as self-care, I was quite skeptical about the idea of paring down my routine. Like, uh noooo. The more hydrating toners the better, ammmmIright?!

However, as I am habitually rushing out the door, I quickly found myself, skipping layers, forgoing multiple serums, and shockingly my skin didn’t protest. Combined with the HYGGEE products, my AM routine consisted of the following:

  • cleanser or rinse face
  • hydrating toner (sorry not sorry, I’ll never skip it lol)
  • essence in Fresh
  • sunscreen
  • & the occasional facial misting throughout the day

Dude.

I know. I’m not that type of girl. But I have to say it.

I was shook! … still am!

Quickly falling for HYGGEE, I couldn’t stop telling the world/my friends about it. However, I knew it was legit when my Seoul esthetician commented on my oil/moisture balance and said my skin’s hydration had improved! Girl. SHOOK-eth.

MORE ABOUT HYGGEE

Beside’s their innovative approach to skincare, HYGGEE also uses beautiful ingredients throughout their line, I’m talking about Niacinamide, Pyrus Malus, Centella Asiatica, all the fermented goodies, and the star ingredient — birch sap juice! If your skincare is lacking amino acids, anti-oxidants, and anti-aging properties you might wanna give HYGGEE a whirl, cuz girl. #IDidntKnowINeededIt.

If you need to be convinced further, let’s discuss packaging … (hint) a minimalists dream! Sleek, trendy, and perfectly IG worthy.

Random: Anyone else intrigued by similarities to the Danish concept of hygge?! If not the theme at least the wording?! Personally, I’m liking this cross-over.

Of the HYGGEE products, my top favorites are the One Step Facial Essence in Fresh — which is a toner/serum/essence and perfect for oily/dehydrated skin, the Cleansing Water (perfect for post-gym or makeup remover), and their tightening & firming sheet mask (cuz I’m always on the quest for a defined jawline!). I also have the One Step Essence in Balance (for dry/sensitive skin), which I’m planning to add to my AM routine, cuz my skin has been SO DRY since my move to Texas.  Bleh.

All in all, while I still love my 10-step Korean skincare routine, I do love having the option of minimizing products without sacrificing that chok-chok glow.

How about you? What’s your skin type? Better yet, what’s your AM skincare routine look like? Are you minimal or do you like to do the most? Comment below + let’s chat.

This looks like such a effective and gentle skin care line.
I’m considering looking into trying this for myself, especially after watching your video on it.
Part of my family is Filipino and is OBSESSED with Korean skin care products because we all know Korean skin is like porcelain.

Thank you soo much for the great advice!

P.s. you have such gorgeous big brown eyes!
    They are like doll eyes!
